We're Jason and Aaron. We built PolicyShift because we were tired.
Tired of watching Canadian politics turn into a screaming match. Tired of reading news articles that felt more like opinion pieces. Tired of scrolling through social media and wondering what's actually true.
The Problem We Saw
Every news source seemed to have an angle. Every headline felt designed to make you angry or scared. Social media became a place where facts didn't matter anymore: just whoever could yell the loudest.
We'd watch people argue about what a politician said or didn't say. What they believed or didn't believe. Everyone had a different version of the truth.
That's not how democracy should work.
What We Wanted to Change
Canadians deserve better. You deserve to know where your Member of Parliament actually stands: without someone else's spin on it.
So we built PolicyShift to do one simple thing: show you what politicians say in their own words.
No opinion. No bias. Just their actual quotes, pulled from trusted Canadian news sources. Our system reads those quotes, understands the context, and tracks their position on different issues.
And here's the important part: when an MP changes their stance, we track that too. You get to see the shift happen in real time.
Why This Matters Now
Canadian politics feels more divided than ever. Trust in media is at an all-time low. People are frustrated and confused about who to believe.
We think you should be able to make up your own mind. To see the evidence. To track what politicians actually say over time: not what someone tells you they said.
That's why PolicyShift exists. To cut through the noise. To give you the facts. To let politicians speak for themselves.
Because informed citizens make better decisions. And better decisions make a better Canada.
